Preschool Resource Program
Many of our students are served by a teacher who makes visits to the student's home, preschool, or private day care setting. The amount of instructional time depends on the individual needs of the child, as identified by the child's Individualized Education Program (IEP). Instruction may take place in a one-to-one setting, integrated small groups, or a combination of the two.
Teachers work with students and families to address the areas of need identified on the IEP. The role of the resource teacher is to model and teach intervention strategies and activities for parents and day care providers, as well as to serve as a source for information, materials and instructional methods.
Related services, such as speech and language therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy, are also provided, either at Woodbine or at the child's neighborhood school, if identified on the IEP.
